After a successful kick-off event in 2009, the “Freiburger Diabetestag” took once again place on March 17, 2012. Professor Dr. Jochen Seufert, head of the special fields of diabetology and endocrinology in the university hospital Freiburg, and his team created an interesting programme for medical experts and assisting diabetes professions. A total of 210 participants followed the invitation into the Konzerthaus Freiburg. The light-flooded ambience of this venue with view on the Johannes church presented the perfect surrounding for a successful advanced training.

The 2nd International Knee Update from March 8 to 10, 2012 was devoted to the innovations in the conservative and surgical arthrosis therapies. Under the scientific guidance of Dr. Urs Munzinger, PD Dr. Philip Schöttle as well as Dr. Thomas Perren the participants got valuable insights on how the profound techniques and innovations influence one another and how they can lead to the optimal therapy concept for various pathomorphologies.

On March 3, 2012 the first "Kölner Herz-Lungen-Konferenz" took place at the MARITIM hotel.
The aim of the one-day conference was to consider aspects of pneumology and cardiology coherently, highlighting differences as well as similarities. Never before has there been a conjunction of those two independent topics in that combination. A high certification by the medical council of North Rhine attested the importance and originality of the leading topic.
With Professor Dr. Wolfram Windisch as pulmonary specialist and Dr. Axel Meissner as cardiac specialist, the first conference of its series was able to attract 140 participants …

This year the congress “Freiburger Knorpeltage” had its premiere – and was able to celebrate an instant success with a total of 240 participants and 19 exhibiting companies rewarding it with an excellent feedback. The scientific and organisational aspects enabled the congress to score a 1:0 for Freiburg. (A result the SC Freiburg currently can only dream of!)
Under the scientific guidance of Professor Dr. Norbert P. Südkamp, PD Dr. Hermann Mayr, PD Dr. Philipp Niemeyer and Dr. Gian Salzmann, the department of orthopaedics and traumatology of the University hospital Freiburg emphasised their focus on regenerative medicine and cartilage surgery.
