GOTS goes Austria – Record attendance at the 27th Annual Congress of the GOTS in Salzburg

From June 22 to 23, 2012 the Annual Congress of the Association of Orthopaedic-Traumatological Sports Medicine (GOTS – Gesellschaft für Orthopädisch-Traumatologische Sportmedizin) was held for the first time in Austria with great success. Under the scientific guidance of Dr. Gerhard Oberthaler the beautiful Mozart town Salzburg invited to the 27th Annual Congress that registered a record attendance of 467 participants.

After the first stage of the witty foray from the foundation in 1992 until 1996, we are now turning over a new leaf: Another five years and a very exciting time – effected and characterised by significant steps: change of location, another office, rising tasks and real growth spurts in the team.

Record attendance at the first capital congress of the DVSE e.V.

From May 10 to 12, 2012 the 19th Annual Congress of the German Association for Surgery of Shoulder and Elbow (DVSE - Deutsche Vereinigung für Schulter- und Ellenbogenchirurgie e.V) was held for the first time in the German capital at the Berlin Congress Center (BCC) on Alexanderplatz.

Not only due to the fast development and the risen interest in shoulder and elbow surgery as well as the consistently increasing number of members, this year’s congress under the scientific guidance of Professor Markus Scheibel and Dr. Falk Reuther was extended to three days for the first time.

ESSKA meets in the smallest of big metropolises – featuring small and big highlights

During the first week of May the ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) had invited to Geneva, the smallest of big metropolises, for its 15th Congress.

Over 2,000 medical specialists followed ESSKA’s call and spent four interesting and scientifically challenging days within a unique setting - not only from a scientific point of view.

Düsseldorfer Schultermeeting

The 2nd "Düsseldorfer Schultermeeting" inspired EVERYBODY!

Two fully booked and particularly praised preparation workshops on April 19, 2012 have been the kick-off for a very successful 2nd “Düsseldorfer Schultermeeting”. The organisation by the anatomy department of the University Hospital Düsseldorf was perfect!

The two following congress days inspired with a top-class, sophisticated scientific programme. Three live surgeries over both days marked a further highlight. The surgical teams at the Hospital Marienkrankenhaus Kaiserswerth delivered, despite initial technical challenges on Friday, impressive pictures into the lecture hall of the Hyatt Hotel.
