12 first-class live-surgeries on November 11 and 12, 2011 caused a lot of enthusiasm among the 279 participants of the "8. Hannoveraner Arthroskopiekurs"!
The renowned team of surgeons was composed of top-class international personalities like Dr. Lafosse from Annecy/France and Dr. Sugaya from Funabashi/Japan as well as of national specialists like the initiators Professor Lill and Professor Lobenhoffer from Hannover.

Four weeks after an intensive week of advanced education in Berlin about 11.000 delegates have returned to their daily routine. The organisational team looks back on an utterly successful DKOU 2011 and hopes that, according to the motto of the congress, all participants were able to overcome their individual boundaries and to accomplish their targeted goals.

The chairman of the advisory council of exhibitors, Mr. Otmar Wawrik, Senior Vice President International Sales at Aesculap AG, appears relaxed and satisfied in a conversation with the manager of the exhibition, Kerstin Schwarz-Cloß: On over 5,600 sqm, the handsomely decorated stands of the 243 exhibitors have invited the congress visitors to high-level communication.
Besides companies in the field of medical technology, many pharmaceutical companies as well as representatives of other medical supplies were ready for an intensive exchange of information.

The congress of the German Society for Hand Surgery together with the DAHTH Annual Meeting from October 6 to 8, 2011 in Bonn was a true success: a sophisticated scientific programme, beautifully arranged exhibitor stands, record attendance numbers and the former Bundeshaus of the German Parliament as a spectacular location! The speakers were seated in front of the Federal Eagle, the chairmen and moderators on the former government bench and the participants on what used to be the seats of the members of parliament, which altogether created an atmosphere that inspired everyone. During the official opening ceremony the history and all the little tales around the World Conference Center Bonn were presented in both an impressive and humorous way by the historian Regina Sellmer.

For the fourth time in a row, this year’s “Heidelberg Deformity-Day” enthralled more than 120 participants and speakers from all over the world with its interactive and multidimensional concept on September 30 and October 1, 2011. Initiated and organised by the renowned foot surgeons from the SWR documentary series “Die Knochen-Docs”, Dr. Wolfram Wenz and Dr. Thomas Dreher, the congress again offered an ideal platform for further education and professional exchange.
